Different heating systems have been developed to adapt to different energy sources such as gas (natural gas, city gas, etc.), electricity, oil and coal. The manufacturing, installation and heating characteristics of the heating system
have a great influence on the life of the zinc pot.
The furnace structure and combustion system should make full use of the available heating area of the zinc pot to provide uniform heating to the pot wall. , to avoid hot spots on the pot wall to prolong the life of the zinc pot.
Some people argue that the heating system of the galvanizing furnace should transfer most of the heat to the upper half of the zinc pot, because the upper half of the zinc pot is the part that consumes the most heat during hot-dip galvanizing.
However, in this way, the zinc pot should be deep enough and the heating area of the zinc pot should be large enough to ensure that the upper half of the zinc pot does not exceed the critical heating intensity.
The lowest part of the heating surface of the zinc pot must be kept at about 100mm above the zinc slag layer. If it is estimated that the zinc slag layer can reach about 200mm,
the zinc pot should not be heated within 300mm above the bottom of the zinc pot.
The control of the furnace temperature of the galvanizing furnace is also very important to prolong the life of the zinc pot. In addition to uniform heating,
the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the zinc pot must be minimized, and the temperature of the inner wall of the zinc pot cannot exceed 480°C.
